Engine Doesn’t Start

Check Fuel System, Spark Plug, Carburetor

LTX 1040 models’ Kohler engines won’t start, just like any other car! This is a typical issue with several reasons!

First, check for fuel system clogs. Fuel system clogs prevent engine start-up. Fix or replace your gasoline system.

Spark plug inspection follows. Kohler engines’ broken spark plugs might also create this issue. If the spark plug fails, replace it.

Check for a blocked fuel filter. Replace the fuel filter. If these simple solutions fail, you’ll need to troubleshoot your carburetor and check starter cranking RPM. Call a mechanic!

Engine Backfires Frequently

Check Inlet-Outlet Valves, Check Spark Plug, Adjust Choke

Backfiring indicates exhaust system combustion rather than combustion chamber combustion. This may have various causes.

First, check and replace the spark plug. Check the choke. Adjust or replace the choke if it seems faulty.
