The Leyland 285 was a farm tractor made by Leyland Tractors from 1975 to 1982. It was one of the first tractors to have an engine that reduced noise and shaking because it was mounted with rubber. The 285 came with various options like power steering, the choice of having all four wheels powered, and a comfortable cab.
On paper, the Leyland 285 seemed like a great tractor. But in reality, it had a lot of problems. The most common issue was with the clutch and gearbox, which often broke because the tractor’s frame would flex too much.
